Turner Construction at Gregory School Career Day

April 11, 2019

The Turner Construction Team led by Dexter L. Hendricks, Vice President Community & Citizenship, engages Gregory Students at Career Day presenting an interactive construction site where students virtually participated in the building process and in the classrooms sharing their unique career paths in the Construction Industry. CCFA was excited to see students' hands raised with lots of questions about careers in construction as our partners from Turner Construction presented. When asked how students enjoyed Turner Construction's range of activities one student stated "very cool, I want to do that again! Wow it felt like I was in the building." Another student stated "Yeah, you can do a lot with math. I might be a engineer!"

I enjoyed talking with students about my 40 year career as a business owner and public policy leader. I’m always amazed at how smart and curious students are at Gregory School. Ms. Carter, School Career Counselor, did an outstanding job, Career Day was a wonderful event with inspiring guests from a range of professions. It was also very positive to have the One Stop Career Center in the lobby interviewing parents and sharing job and career information.
